Located about 30 miles north of Memphis on U.S. Highway 51 in Tipton County, Brighton is a small community that is rapidly expanding. In the 1990 census, there were less than 800 people compared to the nearly 3,000 that live here today. All of the growth has brought commercial development along with it as well. Yet, with all this growth, Brighton has remained the quintessential “Mayberry” type of town where the people are friendly and neighbors still help one another.
